War Monuments

Everyone has experience different types of memories. The memories could be ones from a trip around the world, or it could be from family members that have recently passed away. In all the memories that you have experience you want to cherish the ones the mean the most to you. One of my memories is when i got to visit the Vimy Ridge graveyard site in Washington, DC. During this experience it provided me with different historical facts about what happened during Vimy Ridge and I was also able to visit the John.F Kennedy grave and learn about what he did during his time as president.

Here we learned about the different historical events that took place during WWI and WWII. It provided me with different history facts that I didn't know before. I was interesting to learn about how they survived and what they did to get the historical artifacts to America. Have any of you traveled to different places of the world that WWI and WWII took place in? It would be interesting to know of different sites that the wars also took place in. From being part of the war it has a focus on the cultural memory of the different countries soldiers worked in. As we'll it faces on the post memory of war and the trauma that you experienced with war (De Menezes, 2012).

Both of these images provide viewers with different understandings and impression. When they look at the image what do they see with their imagination. By looking at both pictures for me it provides me with a greater understanding in how many people risked their lives to fight for Canada and the United States in WWI and WWI. Do you have any family members that served in the war? If so what were there roles in helping to protect Canada and the United States?
